To provide an unprecedented lacrosse experience this summer EMW is teaming up with the University of Utah Utes to create what can only be described as a "super camp" in Salt Lake. This partnership will combine the benefits of both the EMW and Ute programs at one camp and finally offer an overnight option for the traditional EMW day camp.
Players get to experience a full 360 degrees of the sport of lacrosse from interacting with the pros during the day under the guidance of Drew Searl at the traditional EMW lacrosse camp to being on campus in the evening with current Ute college players and Head Coach Rick Kladis utilizing their facilities under their guidance.
In addition, overnight participants will have the opportunity to take tours of the University of Utah campus and facilities to get a feel for life at a major academic collegiate institution and get to experience dorm life. A great opportunity for those high school aged kids who are interested in going to college. Extracurricular activities such as swimming and bowling will all be available to participants in between lacrosse sessions.
Camp raises level of lacrosse
Former Judge coach brings in major league players from East Coast to teach the kids. (READ MORE)
EMW Lacrosse Academy was established in 2001 by former Syracuse University Midfielder Drew Searl with one goal in mind: To raise the level of lacrosse in Utah & provide an inexpensive way for kids to gain exposure to the BEST players & coaches in the game today without having to travel to the East Coast where this type of exposure to the game primarily exists.
The vision was to bring the BEST staff here into Utah’s own backyard (hence "East Meets West") & to do it at a premium cost.
The result has been what is traditionally one of the best lacrosse coaching staffs assembled anywhere in the country including professional players from both the MLL & NLL, collegiate coaches, collegiate players & professional coaches from Major League Lacrosse.
The problem is that mediocrity is being promoted to today's young athlete, this is unacceptable. Mediocrity will not be promoted at EMW. This staff enjoys working with young athletes and is passionate in seeing young athletes succeed. Participants will be here to learn and improve upon their skills so that they have the opportunity to "be" the best, The EMW staff will give them the tools.
The expectation is that participants in these camps & clinics be ready to learn & accept the great knowledge this coaching staff has to offer them about what it takes to become a better lacrosse player, a better athlete, a better student, a better teammate and most of all what it takes to win and become a Champion.
The promise is simple: If you have the desire, we can make you better. Come take a ride with us through our world, keep what you learn to take with you to the next level.
